KARACHI:Karachi police on Monday devised a comprehensive security plan for the holy month of Ramazan under which special deployment will be made to protect the worship places across Sindh Province.
According to the security plan, more than 55700 policemen would perform security duties during Ramazan and would protect religious gatherings at open places, mosques and imambargahs.
Police officials have been assigned security duties in this connection at 4215 places in East, West and South districts of Karachi. Beside, more than 500 patrolling police mobile vehicles and 662 motorcyclists’ personnel were deputed for snap checking in various areas of the city. The 7380 traffic police will perform duties to ensure traffic flow during the Ramazan.
In Hyderabad, 1162 police cops and officers with 169 police vehicles will be deputed for guarding 2108 places, in Mirpur Khas 6106 personnel will protect 660 religious places, in Shaheed Banazirabad 4506 cops will perform duties to protect 1542 places, 3661 policemen will protect 605 religious places in Sukkur and more than 1053 cops and officers will performs duties to save 947 religious gatherings including open places, mosques and imambargahs in Larkana.
Inspector General of Police Dr Kaleem Imam has issued special directions to the provincial police to remain on a high alert and fully prepare and be vigilant to avert any untoward situation during Ramazan.
