660 vehicles impounded in road checking campaign

KARACHI:As many as 660 vehicles were impounded and documents of 1282 confiscated due to non-availability of documents and other reasons in the road checking campaign, said Sindh Excise and Taxation Department on Thursday.

It said Rs 8,687,377 were also collected during the drive launched by Sindh Excise and Taxation Department to nab tax defaulting vehicles. During the campaign that concluded today, 17491 vehicles were checked.

As many as 5988 vehicles were checked in Karachi, 3736 in Hyderabad, 2130 in Sukkur, 1635 in Larkana, 1275 in Mirpurkhas and 789 in Shaheed Benazirabad.

Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation congratulated the staff on conducting a successful drive and hoped that they would continue their efforts for collection of the taxes.
