7000 cops to provide security for Benazir’s death anniversary

LARKANA:As many as 7000 policemen will be deployed to provide a foolproof security for the 11th death anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on 27 December 2018 in Garhi Khuda Bux.

It was decided at a high level meetings held separately at the offices of Commissioner and SSP Larkana here on Saturday. The women police and commandos will also be the part of security staff. Additional police pickets will also be established in the Larkana district.

The security arrangements will be monitored through CCTV cameras, walk-through gates, watch towers and sniffing dogs at almost all places. Directions have been issued to the subordinate police officers to intensify snap checking and keep constant watch on hotels, vehicles, railway stations and guest houses.

Traffic plan was also finalized so that incoming people should not feel any difficulty. Special Control Room will also be established to monitor the entire program.

In a separate meeting, PPP Sindh President, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, was told that Garhi Khuda Bux will be free of electricity load shedding three days before the event.

Khuhro informed the participants that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and other leadership would participate and address a large public gathering.

Khuhro was told that four parking zones would be established and 52 walk-through gates installed at all entry gates while people will be thoroughly and physically checked before entering inside. Three SSPs, two ASPs, six DSPs and other traffic cops will ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Khuhro claimed that millions of party activists would take part in the anniversary from all four corners of the country. Commissioner Rafique Ahmed Buriro, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique, SSP Masood Bangash and other relevant officers also participated in the meetings.
