Karachi:Accountability Court Karachi Wednesday awarded conviction to two accused persons in Ref No. 65/2007, 66/2007, 67/2007 and 16/2009, titled State Vs Sheikh Mohammad Asghar and others.
Accused were charged for usurping and embezzlement of state exchequer by depositing pay order meant for Excise and Taxation Department in fake bank account for their personal gain.
The branch Account was opened by Nazir Toni as Manager NBP Dockyard Branch Karachi.
The prosecution made out its case of illegally depositing pay order of Rs.3,035,102/- issued by Pak Steel Mills.
Conviction was awarded to accused Sheikh Mohammad Asghar and Nazir Ahmed Toni for rigorous imprisonment of 5 years and fine of Rs.15 and Rs.10 million, respectively.
