Advisor says arrest of speaker question mark on NAB

Karachi:Advisor to CM on Information, Law and Anti-corruption, Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that the arrest of Speaker Sindh Assembly without evidence has put a big question mark over performance of NAB.

Talking to media, outside the Sindh Assembly Building, on Friday, he said that the CM had requested the chairman NAB to take notice and order probe into the matter.

Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that NAB team stormed into the house of the Speaker. He said that the action of NAB was totally illegal and unconstitutional, when Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani was arrested from Islamabad.

He said that NAB Team forcibly entered into the house of Durrani and female members were sent to lawn of the house. He said that after the incident, members of Provincial Cabinet and Peoples Party leadership immediately rushed to the spot and tried to meet the family members but their access was denied.

To a question, Wahab said that whole day we negotiated with the opposition leaders but they did not cooperate with us in this issue.
