Agri seminar, exhibition planned in Larkana

Karachi: Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF) will hold the 7th Edition of Livestock, Dairy, Fisheries and Agriculture (LDFA) Seminar and Exhibition 2018 at Larkana on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February, 2018.

Ms Naheed, Chairperson f Sindh Board of Investment/Sindh Enterprise Development Fund to media briefing here that the objective of holding LDFA at Larkana is to showcase and highlight the agri-economy of Larkana and adjoining districts which produce approximately 2 million tons out of which 90% is being exported to Africa, Middle East and Far East.

She said the other rice producing countries like China, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Thailand are far ahead in terms of farm practices, crop yields and technology.

She said the event will also highlight clusters like poultry, dairy, livestock and fish farming. LDFA will also highlight and showcase Warehouse Receipt Based Financing model for agri-commodities which is being piloted in the province of Sindh. It will revamp agri-financing as being done in the developed world.

The event will give an update on ‘Entrepreneurship Development Program’ which has been launched last year at Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tando Jam. It aims to introduce agri-premiership among agriculture graduates, equipping them with business insight of international market.
