AIGP vows to eliminate criminal gangs in riverine areas

LARKANA: Additional IGP Sukkur Dr Kamran Fazal has said that operation against dacoits had been launched by police since a year.

He claimed that there were 13 dacoits out of which six bandits were recently killed in the limits of Ketty Mumtaz police station and five to six escaped. He said intelligence agencies, SSPs of Larkana and Khairpur, Masood Bangash and Amir Saud Magsi, played a vital role in tracing and eliminating the gang.

He said ammunition such as anti-aircraft guns and SMGs were recovered from the killed miscreants’ possessions which might have been supplied to them from Balochistan. He said Larkana police played a very crucial role in hunting them down. He said he was briefed by DIGP Larkana about the operation against the outlaws.

He said head money on Iqbal Narejo was Rs 2 million while Rs1 million was fixed for Pathan Narejo. He said the law and order situation would improve after this operation. He said it was the beginning and our efforts would be to wipe out all criminals gangs operating in riverine areas. He said some of the vehicles have been damaged in the operation which would be repaired and accelerated operation would again be launched.

Earlier, AIGP presided over a meeting at SSP office where he was briefed by SSP Bangash about the availability of criminal gangs in the katcha area and overall law and order situation in Larkana district.
