KARACHI:An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday awarded a total of 27 years of imprisonment and fine of Rs0.2 million to a street criminal after he was found guilty.
The ATC court heard the case of accused, Abdul Karim, who was involved in street crime, and announced its decision. The court awarded him 10 years of imprisonment in dacoity, 10 years in police encounter and 7 years in possessing illegal weapons.
According to the police, the accused had attempted to loot a citizen, Rashid Iqbal near Saima Shopping Mall in July 2018, but Iqbal informed the policemen, immediately.
The police said when it tried to intercept the accused, he started firing at police.
A case was registered against him at Shahra-e-Faisal police station.
