Balochistan doctors announce two-day strike against kidnapping of colleague

Quetta: As ultimatum of doctors for the recovery of abducted Neuro Surgeon Dr. Ibrahim Khalil expired here Monday, the Doctors Action Committee announced two days strike in government hospitals of the province from Tuesday.

It was announced that with the exception of Emergency Centre, Operation Theatre and Labour Rooms of government hospitals, doctors would not perform their duties. Boycott would also be observed in private hospitals from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Doctor Kaleemullah, a representative of doctors, said that despite passage of 48 hours, the government had neither contacted doctor community nor had approached family members of the abducted doctor. He said that government had failed to provide security to its citizens.

A committee under the chairmanship of Doctor Zahir Mandokhail comprising representatives of different Doctor Associations has been formed. Dr. Kaleemullah Mandokhail and Dr. Tariq Marri would serve as the Secretary and Treasurer of the said committee, respectively.
