Bilawal meets Nawaz in at Kot Lakhpat jail

LAHORE:Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, along with a party delegation, visited former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat jail on Monday and inquired about his health. The PPP delegation comprised Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokar, Jameel Soomro, Hassan Murtaza and Qamar Zaman Kaira.

Talking to media, Bilawal said: “Nawaz Sharif is very sick. I only came here to inquire about his health. Pressure is being put on Nawaz. This injustice cannot continue especially when someone is sick.”

He said Sharif should be given the best medical care as he was very sick. The PPP chairman said that as per cultural and religious values, a sick Muslim should be visited and his health inquired about.

Bilawal said he was very sad that a former prime minister of the country was being imprisoned again. The PPP chairperson said he was shocked to see Sharif in sickness.

After the meeting, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan Muslim League-N Leader and the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, on Monday offered thanks to Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for having a meeting with her ailing father.

Soon after the meeting, Maryam took to the Tweeter and tweeted: “Thank you very much @BBhuttoZardari for your thoughtfulness and kind gesture. Means a lot to me. Prayers and every good wish. God bless.”

Sharif is suffering from cardiac ailment and is willing to go abroad for treatment, but the government is not allowing him.
