CM Buzdar visits Data Darbar blast injured, consoles them

LAHORE:Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar inquired about the people injured in the Data Darbar blast and admitted in the emergency wards of Mayo Hospital’s Surgical Tower here on Thursday. He visited the patients individually and prayed for their early recovery. He also presented financial assistance cheques to them. The severely wounded were given Rs.5 lakh each while the minor injured were presented one lakh rupees each.

The Chief Minister directed the administration to provide every possible healthcare facility and no stone should be left unturned in their treatment. He appreciated the performance of medical staff adding that doctors have worked hard round-the-clock for the treatment of the injured. Serving the ailing humanity is the true spirit of the medical profession and we pay tributes to the doctors who are engaged in the service of the people in need, he said.

While talking to the inured, the Chief Minister said that all the sympathies of the government are with them and it is standing by the injured. He appreciated their strong commitment and said that coward enemy cannot face the brave Pakistani nation adding that the war will be won with the support of the people.

While talking to the media, the Chief Minister said that doctors are doing the best treatment of the patients and they have taken care of the injured persons in a very good manner. I am happy that the doctors, nurses and the paramedical staff of the Mayo Hospital have served the people in difficulty from the core of their hearts, he added. To a question, he said the investigations of the blast are underway and it is hoped that the culprits will be soon exposed. The people will be informed after the completion of the investigations, he added.

To another question, the Chief Minister said that he had planned to visit Bhakkar, Sargodha and Sheikhupura districts yesterday but postponed the visits as soon as he got information about this tragic incident. I immediately convened a law and order meeting and also visited the place of the incident, he added. He said the Punjab government immediately took steps for the treatment of the injured and rescue activities were carried out well in time. Provincial health minister and other ministers inquired after the injured in the hospital and I have also come here to console them. We are with the affected people and they will not be left alone, he further said. IG police, secretary specialized healthcare and medical education, DC and CCPO Lahore and others were present on the occasion.
