QUETTA: Keeping in view backwardness and poverty of provincial government was ensuring judicious use of resources. Establishing peace and order, provision of quality education and basic facilities of quality education and health care are priorities of government. Government was extending cooperation to all organisations for eradication of polio form the province welfare of children and women. It is hoped that world bodies would pay special attention in keeping in view problems and vast area of Balochistan.

These views were expressed by Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo while speaking with UNICEF delegation which called on him under the leadership of Regional Director Ms Jean Gough here Thursday.

Chief Secretary, Aurang Zeb Haq, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and development, Secretary Health, Secretary Finance and others were also present. UNICEF Regional Director UNICEF appreciating government of Balochistan measures for end of polio, education, health and development of people expressed concern over surfacing polio cases in Killa Abdullah and Pishin and expressed hope that Government would ensure polio vaccination and monitoring in these areas of Quetta Bloc.

She appreciating provincial administration said that community health workers are very serious in their duty and it is very encouraging.

Chief Minister told that Balochistan has very large area and government was paying attention in its limited resources to law and order, education and health. Situation has improved greatly compared to past. He said our province has faced difficulties due to terrorism but now situation and people’s life startle was improving. He said we have paid special attention on peace and order and peace has returned to the province. He visited various parts of metropolis without protocol and limited security so that impression proves wrong that situation is not good in Balochistan.

He said government was extending world bodies for eradication of polio. Balochistan has long border with Afghanistan and owing to devotement of people in large number polio virus t4ransfers to Pakistan. He said anti State elements attacks on polio workers but their morale is high and they were doing their work with courage. He said special directives have been issued to local administration and health officials that no effort should be spared in vaccination of polio and other diseases.

He said world bodies would pay special attention on Balochistan keeping its backwardness and vast area and problems of children and women would be resolved.

He told that he was holding open katchehries for listening to problems of people and their immediate resolution and there were better results and people’s trust on government was increasing.

UNICEF delegation appreciated Government of Balochistan measures for progress of people and assured for lunching more welfare projects in Balochistan.
