ISLAMABAD:The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition for disqualification of Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed.
A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed announced the judgment in the petition filed by PML-N leader Shakil Awan, in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The verdict reserved on March 20 has been given by 2-1 as Justice Qazi Faez Isa has written a dissenting note in the judgment.
Shakil Awan had filed a petition against Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed alleging him of mis-declaration in his nomination papers for the last general election and hence does not become eligible to become a member of parliament.
