Crackdown on traffic rules violators

Quetta:Traffic Police and Regional Transport Authority launched major crackdown on vehicles violating traffic rules and not fulfilling the criteria of fitness.

Crackdown commenced at Toor Nasar Chowk jointly by Quetta Traffic Police and Regional Transport Authority.

Team led by SP Traffic Ashiq Hussain and DSP Shabana Habib removed search lights from various trucks, buses and vehicles. Pressure horns, prohibited number plates and tinted glasses were also removed from several vehicles.

According to police authorities, dozens of vehicles were challenged for not possessing documents.

Police authorities were of the opinion that owing to search lights, traffic incidents were increasing in evening timing. During the crackdown Regional Transport Authority confiscated several vehicles for violating traffic rules and challans were served upon the drivers.

Hameedullah Muhammad Hasni Superintendent Regional Transport Authority said that vehicles not fulfilling fitness standard, without route permits, fixing additional seats and over loading were confiscated.
