CS reviews progress of development schemes

QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana, has said that development schemes had been planned to improve the life’s standard of people.

These views were expressed by him while presiding over a high level meeting held here on Monday to review the progress of development schemes reflected in the PSDP for the current financial year. Directing the concerned authorities for completion of development schemes in accordance with the period mentioned in the project cycle (PC-I) of the project, he said that monitoring of the development schemes be ensured. Rana said that the completion of development projects would usher in the era of progress and development in the province.

The meeting thoroughly reviewed the progress of development projects of Communication and Works Department, Education, Irrigation, Forest, Agriculture, Information Technology, Health, Sports, Tourism and Public Health Engineering Department. During briefing, Chief Secretary, Balochistan was informed that tenders of 185 development schemes out of 580 of Communication and Works Department, 128 schemes out of 156 schemes of Irrigation Department and 50 schemes out of 518 development schemes of Public Health Engineering Department had already been issued while 1700 development schemes out of 2120 development schemes had been approved by DSC and PDWP has accorded approval for authorization of 113 schemes out of 166 development schemes.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning and Development Department, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Secretary (Implementation), Planning and Development Department, Abdullah Khan, Secretary, Roads, Zahid Saleem, Secretary, Health Department, Aziz Jamali, Secretary, Secondary Education Department, Muhammad Hayat Kakar, Special Secretary, Finance Department, Lal Jan Jaffar and other concerned authorities.
