CS seeks report on water, sewerage schemes

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon has directed secretaries of local government and public health engineering departments to expedite work on ongoing water and sewerage schemes, summoning reports in this regard by January 29.

Presiding over a meeting pertaining to water supply and drainage issues here, Memon asked his subordinates to look into the pending schemes of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board including S-III project.

The chief secretary directed that ground realities must be covered, asking the irrigation secretary Jamal Mustufa Syed who was also the chairman taskforce to take all stakeholders including KWSB and WASA on board for resolving these issues without any further delay.

The meeting was also attended by eminent water technologist Ahsan Siddiqui and Shahab Usto, the litigator who had petitioned the apex court regarding water-related issues.
