Demo demands arrest of Asma Rani’s murderer

KARACHI:The activists of Democratic Student Federation Pakistan (DSF) on Friday held a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) against the murder of a medical college student in Kohat.

Asma Rani, a third-year MBBS student at Ayub Medical College, was shot dead by one Mujahid Afridi, a few days back in front of her house.

DSF Chief Saqib, Karachi Zone president Emel, Communist Party of Pakistan leader Zubair Rehman, Naghma Shaikh and others led the protest.

Speaking on the occasion, Naghma Shaikh said that the murderer of Asma Rani has already fled the country. She said KPK police fully knew the Asma’s killer, but they did not take any action against Mujahid.

Protesters demanded arrest of Mujahid Afridi as soon as possible and doling out justice to the affected family.

Separately, the activists of National Youth Organization Sindh (NYO) also reached the KPC to register protest against the assassination of Asma Rani in Kohat. T

he protest was led by provincial president of NYO Irfan Ghani, Imtiaz Khan and others.

They chanted slogans against the KPK police and demanded immediate arrest of culprit, Mujahid Afridi.

They also appealed the Chief Justice of Pakistan to order providing security to Asma’s family.
