Dipl: (Turkish President meets NA Speaker before his address to joint session of parliament)

ISLAMABAD: President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan met Speaker National Assembly here in Parliament House before his address to the Joint Session of the Parliament on Friday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani and Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri were also present during the meeting.

Talking to the Turkish President, the Speaker said that Pakistan cherishes its fraternal relations with Turkey which were intertwined in religious and historic cultural and brotherly ties. He said people of Pakistan were thankful to the resolute support of Mr Erdogan to the issue of Kashmir.

Asad Qaiser further said that bilateral relations between both the countries had witnessed progression due to enhanced cooperation at multilateral spheres. He expressed his optimism that the current visit of Erdogan will further reinforce the bilateral relations.

The Speaker said it was indeed an honor for the Parliament to be addressed by a Leader of stature from a brotherly Country.

The Chairman Senate of Pakistan Sadiq Sanjarani and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri also welcomed the honorable Guest and expressed their gratitude to him for visiting Pakistan and addressing the Parliament.

President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that it was honour for him to address the Parliament of Pakistan for the fourth time. He said Turks adore their Pakistani brethren who were attached with each other in eternal bonds. He reiterated his staunch support to the issue of Kashmir.

Earlier, Erdogan was received by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser along with Chairman Senate, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri on his arrival at Parliament House.

The President of Turkey after his address to the Parliament also inscribed his remarks in the Visitors’ book placed in the Hall of Fame in the Parliament House.
