LARKANA:The Regional Election Commissioner (REC), Larkana Division and Divisional Monitoring Officer (DMO), PS-11, Larkana-II By-Election 2019, Rana Abdul Ghaffar, has issued notice to MNA Khursheed Ahmed Junejo, MPAs Suhail Anwar Siyal, Syed Nasir Shah, Sharjeel Inam Memon, Ganhwar Khan Isran and Nisar Ahmed Khuhro adviser to CM for violating code of conduct.
DMO has required them to explain their position within a day otherwise disciplinary action in light of Section 167 and 234 of Elections Act 2017 read with Rule 171 of Election Rules shall be taken against them as well as against the PPP candidate Jamil Soomro. They all participated in the rally/campaign taken out here on Saturday led by their peoples party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The notice stated that “your visit and participation in election campaign/rally where by-election program has been announced which is considered as the violation of Para-17 of the Code of Conduct issued for conduct of election in Larkana.
The available documentary evidence collected by monitoring team as well as the media reports hold you accountable for violation of the code of conduct. The notice further added, being a member of national assembly/provincial assembly/adviser to CM you were fully aware about the announcement of schedule of election issued by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) which requires that you cannot visit the constituency in any manner whatsoever after announcement of ECP schedule and participate in election campaign for any contesting candidate”. The copies of this notice have been sent to ECP Secretary, Provincial ECP Sindh and SSP Larkana. SSP has been directed to serve the notice immediately.
