KARACHI:The value of the US dollar against the rupee touched to a record high of Rs150 in the open market on Friday.
The greenback gained by another Rs3 to touch an all-time high of Rs150 in the open market, and rose by Rs2.48 in the interbank market to reach Rs149 earlier today.
At the same time, the KSE-100 Index dropped by 965 points to its lowest level in three years and four months.
The dollar rose to Rs148 in the open market Thursday a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice and told currency exchange dealers to lower the rate. It closed at Rs141.39 in the interbank market on Wednesday.
