Fake lady doctor arrested from JPMC

KARACHI: Karachi police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a fake lady doctor from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), where the suspect had been working for past one year.

Station House Officer (SHO) Women’s Police Station Syeda Ghazala said that the police received information about a fake lady doctor at JPMC’s gynaecology ward, who was not affiliated with the hospital. A police team raided JPMC gynaecology ward and arrested the suspect, Aisha Karim, a resident of Korangi. During the initial investigation, the suspect herself told the police that she had been freely working at the ward for past one year and most of the ward employees recognized her as a doctor.

Ghazala further said the woman had got education up to the Matriculation level and did not even have a mid-wife certificate. The police are also investigating the possibility of the woman’s affiliation with an illegal group that abducts new-born from the ward, said Ghazala.

Police have registered a case against the suspect under Section 419 and 170 of the Pakistan Penal Code and started further investigation.
