Five houses of Bagri community burnt to ashes in Larkana

LARKANA:Five houses of Bagri community were burnt to ashes in Nazar Muhalla here on Sunday due to which poor families lost everything.

The house of Jasrat, Gulsher, Raja Ram, Arjun and Mujawar Bagri caught fire from a flame due which it spread quickly and destroyed all valuables kept in their homes. They told newsmen that they lost washing machines, sewing machines, golden ornaments, cash, TV, solar system and other valuables. They said they telephonically informed police, district administration and fire brigade but nobody came to their rescue to extinguish the fire adding they did themselves by throwing hand pump water which delayed the process and they suffered more loss.

They said that more than one million rupees worth of their material had been burnt. Union Committee Chairman Kashif Umrani came to their locality and announced to give Rs 10,000 each family. It must be mentioned here that most of the Bagri community women were begging daily in the streets of Larkana; otherwise, they don’t have permanent source of earning. Some of their young men are now doing small trade on pushcarts. They have appealed to their minority MPAs & MNAs to come forward and provide immediate financial support so that they can construct their houses afresh.
