ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has said that Pakistan is a sovereign country and statements by the US officials against a sovereign state would not help achieving goals and targets against terrorism.
In an interview, he said the United States has not been able to achieve its desired results in Afghanistan and joint efforts are needed to combat the menace.
He said both the United States and Pakistan should maintain good relations for achieving the targets.
Aizaz Chaudhry said Pakistan could not be held responsible for the situation in Afghanistan.
He said we want durable peace in Afghanistan as peace in Afghanistan is vital for ensuring peace in Pakistan.
Aizaz Chaudhry said Pakistan has achieved huge success in war against terrorism.
