Haleem demands AIDS emergency in Sindh

Karachi:Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Sindh chapter acting president Haleem Adil Shaikh has demanded of the government of Sindh to declare AIDS emergency in whole Sindh province.

According to details, Haleem Adil who is also parliamentary party leader of PTI in Sindh assembly has deposited a resolution in Sindh assembly to demand controlling AIDS and declaring AIDS emergency in Sindh.

Haleem Adil in this regard said that AIDS is spreading fast in Ratodero, Larkana. He said other districts of Sindh are also being affected from AIDS. He said the health department of Sindh has failed to give basic healthcare facilities to people. He said government hospitals and basic health centers do not have proper facilities or sufficient number of doctors.

He said in Sindh previously more than 15000 AIDS/HIV patients were present. He said recently 11000 people are screened in Ratodero and out of them 547 people are found patients of AIDS. He said other towns like Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Hyderabad, Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Sanghar and Khairpur are also being affected of the AIDS.

He demanded immediate AIDS emergency in Sindh province and arranging screening and testing facilities in every government hospital.
