ABBOTTABAD: Board of Governors of Ayub Medical Teaching Institution has taken a number of decisions including appointments, promotions, development work, financial management, financial audit and renovation work in a brief period.
Ayub Medical Teaching Institution employees rejoiced and celebrated the long-awaited status of their employment as two hundred and fifty employees working on daily wages for almost a decade, have been upgraded to the contract term, the employees combined their jubilance with the celebrations of Independence Day and organized a ceremony to pay their gratitude to the Chairman Board of Governors Maj Gen (R) Asif Ali Khan and the members,says a statement of the media manager here Sunday.
The Chairman addressed the audience and said that facilitating the employees is the top priority of the Board. He said that they are there to solve the grievances and problems of the employees so that they could work with peace of mind and deliver their services with their maximum capacity.
It has been said that the promotion of administrative cadre doctors had been delayed for the years which lead to the dissatisfaction and demotivation in them and had promoted 60 doctors under the four – tier formula immediately fulfilling all the codal and legal formalities. Various posts of Health Department have also been upgraded under the four-tier formula at the ratio of 1:15:34:50 for BPS-20, 19, 18 and 17 respectively. The senior doctors said they were thankful to the Board of Governors.
The Chairman BOG’s efforts initiated the Bahria Dasktrkawan last year that served the hygienic food to 1500 patients of the hospital three times a day, free of cost.
Till now they have served food to more than 4 hundred thousand patients. Now it has been upgraded their capacity so that they can extend the facility to additional 1500 people. The facility also include free of cost meal to the poor students of the medical college and the employees of class four category.
The much-needed development, renovation and up gradation work has been undertaken on the emergency basis, under which all the wards, operation theaters, bathrooms and visiting areas shall be renovated. Renovation of the hostels, construction of boundary walls in and around the hostels, construction of parking areas for the patients and staff members, improvement of the roads conditions with the construction of footpaths are also included in the planned work. Theatres are under construction which will bring state of art touch to our surgical practice. This will not only provide the infection-free atmosphere but also solve the problem of the long-awaited list of OTS”. Provision of space for thoracic ward and allied facilities is also under consideration.
The Board directed to solve the problem of choked sewerage drains and to modernize lecture theatres. More than 2000 trees have been planted in Ayub Medical College on the occasion of Independence Day. In 450 bedded Mother and Child Health Care center, there will be increase in the bed strength.
Media Manager Amber Javed further told that instructions to all concerned for the development of Sub Specialties in GYN/ OBS Department issued to address the security issues, it has to be ensured that the tagging of the newborn be done as per international protocols, ten Lady Security Guards shall be hired specifically for MCHC, and Wireless Systems with the base station and CCTV Cameras be installed immediately.
The institutional based private practice which is the core concept of MTI reform Act is being implemented in its true letter and spirit. Board has directed the admiration to ensure free diagnostics and treatment modalities to all patients.
To solve the issues of appointments and promotions the HR department is needed to be strengthened, and for that purpose, the position of General Manager HR has already been advertised and had also started internal, external, forensic and financial Audit. The pending work on the College of Dentistry has been started. The position of Project Director (Civil works) has already been advertised in this regard.
