QUETTA:A ‘Black Day’ across the province was observed here on Thursday on the eve of Independence Day of India as a protest against revoking special status of occupied Kashmir. In pursuance of the announcement made by the Federal Government, the black day was observed across the province including in provincial capital on the eve of Indian’s Independence Day.
National flag in Governor’s House, Chief Minister’s House, Balochistan Provincial Assembly, Balochistan High Court and in all government buildings remained half-mast. Railway Mehnat Kash Union took out protest rally and chanted slogans against India and Narendra Modi. Protesters also chanted slogan “Kashmir Banega Pakistan” (Kashmir will become Pakistan).
On the occasion protesters burnt effigy of Narendra Modi. Another Protest Rally under the auspices of United Jammu and Kashmir Welfare Society, Balochistan took out from Metropolitan Corporation, marched on different Roads and reached Quetta Press Club where it staged a protest demonstration. In other cities of Balochistan including Kohlu, Kalat, Washuk, Dera Bughti and Barkhan India’s Independence day was also observed as black day.
