Inter-provincial gang stealing copper wires from trains busted; 100kg wires seized near Paddidan

PADDIDAN:Paddidan Railway Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested an inter-provincial gang of criminals stealing copper wires from trains in Sindh and recovered 100kg such wires worth Rs116,000 from their possession.

On a secret information, a Paddidan Railway Police team, headed by new SHO Zahoor Ahmed, conducted a raid on Awam Express going to Peshawar from Karachi at Bhirya Road Railway Station and captured three members of the gang identified as Nasir Shah, Moharam Ali and Altaf Hussain.

The SHO informed that the accused, belong to Sukkur and Hyderabad cities and were involved in stealing copper wires from the trains in Sindh province. He said that his team made a successful raid and recovered 100kg wires worth Rs116,000 from their possession.

He said that the police had lodged a case against the accused and started further probe into the case. Further confessions are likely to be made from the accused, the SHO said.
