JI asks political parties to get united

LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the shadows of uncertainty about the 2018 elections were looming large and political parties should unite on the constitution to steer the country out of this situation.

He was addressing the central working committee of the JI at Mansoora.

Sirajul Haq said that the elections should be held according to schedule and should be free, fair and transparent and no unconstitutional step should be tolerated in any case.

The JI chief said that the entire nation should be readied to face the US and it should be made clear to Trump as also the world at large that the situation in Afghanistan was worsening due to the presence of the US/ NATO forces there.

He said that no nation or country could be put on the right path through armed invasion as this would always lead to destruction. He said that the world community should press for the eviction of the outside forces from Afghanistan. He told the rulers that instead of relying on the US, we should be careful about Trump’s designs.

Haq said that if the elections were not held on schedule, an unconstitutional situation would crop up in the country and may lead to political instability. He said that the political parties should not resort to any expediency in this score.

The JI chief said that the killers of Zainab had not been traced even after a week which had increased sense of insecurity among the people and a question mark had been raised regarding the efficiency of the police. The rulers’ tall claims of good governance had been exposed and the parents felt afraid to send their children to schools.
