JI demands giving basic facilities to tribal people

Peshawar:Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the tribal people were awaiting the implementation of the government announcements since the merger of the tribal areas with the Khyber P.

Addressing a large Ijtema in Bajaur Agency on Thursday, he stressed upon the federal and the provincial government to pay immediate attention to the rehabilitation of the tribal people and the provision of basic necessities to tem.

Sirajul Haq said that the tribal areas had formally become part of the Khyber P. but the government had neither given an alternative set up of governance nor allocated any budget to these areas. He said the tribal areas had been economically destroyed because of years of lawlessness and operations. The roads, hospitals, educational institutions and markets in these areas had become ruins but the government had not given due attention to the provision of basis facilities to these people due to which the tribal people were disappointed.

In this regard, the JI chief urged the government to ensure the enforcement of the federal and provincial laws in the former tribal areas, and provide the people with the e rights available to the people living in federal capital and mega cities like Karachi and Lahore. He said that the immediate attention should be given to the construction of roads and infrastructure. He said that the educational institutions and health centers should be built anew and the houses and the markets in the area should be rebuilt on war footing to avoid a human catastrophe.
