JI grand Jirga against Rao Anwar

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has announced to hold a grand Jirga on January 31 in Sohrab Goth, where the party leadership along with the family members of Naqeebullah Mehsud will be announcing their further course of action.

Addressing a press conference at the Idara Noor-e-Haq, here on Monday, he said that the JI had held a Jirga in 2015 in the same area and on the same issue of extra-judicial killings. Had the government paid heeds to the matter, Naqeebullah would not have be killed in a fake encounter.

Naeem said that Rao Anwar will have to present himself for accountability. He added that not only the police officer but his supporters and those who were patronizing him would also be brought to justice.

He demanded of CM Murad Ali Shah and PPP high-ups to ensure that Rao Anwar will not dodge the system. He said that the federal government should be approached in case Anwar has already fled from the country.
