LAHORE:Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has condemned the propaganda of westernized NGOs terming the slaughtering of sacrificial animals as a huge financial loss, and said that the factual position was just the opposite.
He was addressing a large Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque. Sirajul Haq said that these NGOs were perhaps blind to the trade of billions of dollars generated by the slaughtering of sacrificial animals every year. He further said that every year, millions of animals were slaughtered in the way of Allah and this tradition had been continuing since centuries yet, never the shortage of sacrificial animals had been felt.
The JI chief said that the true spirit of sacrifice implied scarifying one’s all in the way of Allah, and this was not achieved by merely slaughtering an animal every year without giving up the disobedience of Allah in the day to day life.
He said that if an individual claimed to be a believer yet he was quite comfortable in a system of life alien to Islam, he should seriously consider the status of his faith.
He said that the slaughtering of animal gave us the lesson to sacrifice our desires and longings for the pleasure of Allah. And if one does not abandon disobeying Allah, the Almighty, in the practical life, his prayer, fasting, charity and sacrificing of animal won’t save him from the hell fire. He said that Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam and it could develop and prosper only under the Islamic system.
