Peshawar:Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul; Haq, has directed the leadership of the JI Khyber PK. to bring all political parties of the province on one platform to struggle for the rights of the people there.
Addressing a convention of tribal workers at Peshawar on Sunday, he said that the JI would raise its voice at every forum for the rights of the KPK.
Sirajul Haq said the government had announced a special package of Rs. 1000 billion for the tribal areas besides three per cent of the NFC Award and for resolving the employment problem in the area. However, he said, that none of these promises had been fulfilled.
The JI chief said that the tribal people were peace loving and they had rendered huge sacrifices for the cause of the country but the governments had not given them their due.
He said the tribal people had promised the Quaid e Azam to defend the western border of the country as unpaid soldiers and they had been doing this for the last seventy years.
The JI chief said there was not a single university in the tribal areas. The sick people had to be brought to Peshawar for medical care. The tribal people wanted basic facilities of education, health and employment. He said that the late Qazi Husain Ahmed had raised his voice for the rights of the tribal people and the JI had been continuing this effort.
Sirajul Haq said that all the political parties had endorsed the National Action Plan against terrorism but the previous and the present governments had not implemented it fully. He said, whenever there was a talk of the ANP, the mosques and the madrissahs were closed and the Ulema were defamed. He said that even in held Kashmir, the madrissahs and mosques were being closed. He said that this was the enemy agenda because the mosques and madrissahs were only imparting education of the Quran and the Sunnah. In Held Kashmir, a ban had been imposed on the Islamic movement working in the name of the Jamaat e Islami although it was working only in the fields of education and health and social welfare. He said this ban was totally unjustified.
He said the Senate had called upon the government to raise its voice against the action against the JI in Held Kashmir at international level but there had been no response from the government.
