Karachi: Thousands of Karachiites have joined the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) in different successful membership camps in different parts of the city; more than 8000 joined the PTI at its mega membership camp in Quaidabad, Landhi alone.
This month the PTI organized 17 membership camps in different parts of the megacity, including Teen Talwar, Bahadurabad Chowrangi, Kiamari, Haidery, KPT Ground, Shah Faisal Colony, Malir Cantt, Mukka Chowk, Liaquaatabad, Perfume Chowk, PIB Colony, Burns Road, Baldia, Naval Colony, Quaidabad, Malir, Metroville and other localities. These camps received huge response from the Karachiites and thousands of them applied for the PTI membership and were issued computerized identity cards of the party.PTI
Chairman Imran Khan during his recent visit to the megacity also visited these camps and addressed to huge gatherings there. The most successful of these camps were the camp at Quaidabad, where more than 8000 people joined the PTI. Haleem Adil Sheikh, PTI Sindh executive vice president and other leaders supervised the camp.
However, the membership drive has been continued in different parts of Malir and PTI chairman Imran Khan on Sunday, March 18 would visit Malir and address at different places. At 4:00pm he would address to a mega membership camp at Malir-15 near Shandaar Biryani House at the Malir Bridge. At 5:00pm he would visit the camp at Sindhu Chowk of Gulshan e Hadeed and speak to the masses. At 6:00pm he would inspect the membership camp of PTI Labor Wing at the Labor Square and address a big gathering.
After split in different factions of MQM, the Karachiites have taken a great interest in the PTI, and the party has also closely focused on the megacity. As the ruling parties have already miserably failed to resolve the civic issues of the megacity including acute water shortage, the Karachiites have pinned hopes on the dynamic leadership of the PTI. The Karachiites are joining the party as they have already been fed up with the decade-long politics of violence, extortion, gunny bag packed dead bodies and stinking corruption, says a PTI release.
They are now looking to the PTI that is struggling bravely for peace, love, brotherhood and a corruption-free welfare state. These slogans are warmly welcomed by the people of Pakistan including Karachiites and the popularity of the party is increasing in the megacity with every passing day.
However, PTI Sindh leader Haleem Adil Sheikh has been paying visit to different areas of Malir to convey people the message of party chairman Imran Khan and invite them to join the party.
