KARACHI:During a crackdown against power theft in parts of Baldia and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, K-Electric (KE) teams along with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) disconnected the illegal supply of Iqra City residential apartments and Rabia Flower located in Gulshan e Iqbal.
According to reports, the two projects having outstanding dues of over PKR 15 million were running their water pumps through illegal abstraction of power. The illegal connections were dismantled following multiple notices to the administrative union members.
As per K-Electric spokesperson, the power utility has appealed to the union members to immediately clear their dues so that the electricity supply could be assured. In another raid in the area of Sector 9E and Sector 12 C of Baldia, more than 110kg illegal connections were pulled down and action was taken against the power thieves. Forms to acquire legalised new connections were also distributed to some residents of Baldia.
