Khuhro denounces PPP workers arrest; demo held in Larkana

LARKANA:While condemning arrest of PPP activists in Islamabad, PPP Sindh chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said Tuesday that those arrests had reminded the people of dictatorial times as the history of Rawalpindi was being repeated.

Khuhro said in the past, bodies of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto were given from Rawalpindi and now Pindi had again been chosen for Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other party leadership.

He said the party would not tolerate such tyranny and asked party workers to be prepared for struggle against the dictatorial designs of the federal government. He said PPP was being pushed to the wall but they would not succeed. He demanded immediate release of arrested workers of the party.

Khuhro said the prime minister had failed to give relief to the people facing worst price hike. He said that in a bid to hide its failure, the federal government was trying to spread panic and chaos. He said the prime minister was unable to run the country due to which opposition’s voice was being suppressed and they were subjected to vendetta. He said it must be stopped or else, he added, slogans of “Go Imran Go” will be chanted in every street.

Meanwhile, PPP activists held a protest demonstration and staged a sit-in on Jinnah Bagh Chowk here against the arrests of party activists in Islamabad. The participants chanted slogans against what they called “NAB-Gardi”. Fatah Bhutto, Nasiba Channa, Shakil Memon and others took part in the demonstration and demanded release of the workers.
