KP: (KP Govt launches special programme for providing free treatment to diabetic patients)

ISLAMABAD:The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a special programme for providing free treatment to diabetic patients.

Addressing a function in Peshawar on Tuesday, Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Farooq Jamil said two hundred and thirty-four million rupees have been set aside for this purpose. He said initially the programme has been started in fifteen districts of the province.

The districts are Charsadda, Haripur, Chitral, Mardan, Bannu, Karak, D.I. Khan, Kohat Mansehra, Swat, Lakki Marwat, Swabi, Timergara, Abbottabad and Nowshera.

Secretary Health said presently more than six million people throughout the province are suffering from diabetes.
