LB employees to stage sit-in in front of Sindh Assembly on Jan 25

LARKANA: The convention of Shah Lateef Local Government Employees Federation, Sindh, was held in Naundero under the chairmanship of its president Maulana Mushtaque Ahmed Korejo, in which it was decided to stage a sit-it and hold a protest demonstration, after meeting in Karachi, in front of Sindh Assembly on Jan 25, which will continue till their justified demands are accepted.

The convention was attended by delegations of all local bodies’ employees who came from more that 18 districts of Sindh including Shikarpur, Kambar-Shahdadkot, Kandhkot-Kashmore, Jacobabad, Dadu, Nawabshah, Ghotki, Badin, Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Khairpur, Sukkur and others. They were demanding regularization of their jobs and payment of monthly salaries through district accounts offices of the province.

While addressing the convention, Maulana Mushtaque and others said that the employees were being treated step-motherly in the name of fake appointments due to which National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sukkur was harassing the poor employees who were discharging their duties perfectly and diligently. They said that elected representatives were keeping the employees on false & fabricated commitments without taking proper measures to regularize their jobs and to resolve the issue which was lingering since long.

They said that the Sindh government was providing employment to its near and dear ones but these employees were running from pillar to post since 2012 but rulers of Sindh had done only lip-service for which it should be ashamed of. They urged PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to take notice of the issue and order its resolution.
