Man electrocuted in Model Colony

KARACHI:  A man was electrocuted in Model Colony area of the city on Wednesday.

As per sources, a 35-year-old Rashid was electrocuted when a live electric wire fell on him in Model Colony.

Later, residents of the area staged a protest demonstration against the live wires hanging over in the area and chanted slogans against the K-Electric (KE).

It is worth to mention here, that in many other areas of the city snapped electricity wires are a major threat to human lives, but the K-Electric (KE) is too slow to fix these killing wires in the megacity.

Although, prolonged outages have hindered work at factories, shops, offices and houses specially Iftar and Sehri timing, the energy crisis have also come as a major inconvenience to students appearing for BIEK exams in the city.

Protests have been carried out in city daily basis over persistent outages that have not ended despite promises made by K-Electric (KE).
