KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday awarded a life jail term sentence to an accused, Zubair alias Memon, in a kidnapping for ransom case. ATC, in view of evidences, announced the verdict. The accused had abducted a 13-year-old boy, Talha, at a gunpoint from Gulshan-e-Iqbal when he was coming back to home from an event along with his father.
The accused had demanded a heavy ransom from his parents for release. Police said that the accused had fled jail in 2013 due to negligence of jail administration. Later, he was arrested. AVCC police had registered an FIR against the accused.
