Mayor says credit of peace in megacity goes only to Rangers

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar on Monday said if the law and order situation is better today in the megacity, its credit only goes to the Rangers.

Mayor said this while inspecting different road projects in Qayoomabad area.

He said that Sindh Rangers had played an important role for the restoration of law and order situation in the megacity, adding they bravely fought the terrorism. He said people still remember Aman Committee and Lyari gang war who used to kill and maim Karachiites.

Mayor said that when the Karachi operation was carried out, all political parties had assured their full cooperation.

He said the Karachiites want peace in their city and they will never elect such people whose hands are tainted with the blood of innocent people.
