Minister: (FM phones Turkish counterpart to discuss bilateral ties)

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday telephoned his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu and discussed with him bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi felicitated his Turkish counterpart on Turkey’s 97th Republic Day. He lauded Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s clear stance against the growing trend of Islamophobia.

The Turkish Foreign Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement about Islamophobia is commendable.

He thanked the Turkish Foreign Minister for supporting Pakistan on FATF. The Turkish Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s efforts regarding successful implementation of the FATF action plan.

Expressing grief over the Peshawar blast, he expressed condolence with Shah Mahmood Qureshi over the loss of precious lives in the incident.
