Minister: (Transparency and rule of law top priorities of Govt: Fawad)

ISLAMABAD:Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that various major companies of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and some other countries have expressed keenness to invest billions of dollars in different sectors in Pakistan. Delivering a lecture in Oxford University in London on Friday, he said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has focused on reviving economy.

He said measures are being taken for establishment of special economic zones and industrial development. He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a great economic project.

He said the civil and military institutions are working in complete harmony in the country. He said transparency and rule of law are among the top priorities of the PTI government.

The minister said the government is committed to root out corruption and money-laundering. He said the government is working to increase participation of the overseas Pakistanis in economic and political affairs of the country.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said media enjoys complete freedom in Pakistan, and the government has also withdrawn censorship on the state media. He, however, stressed for regulating the communication channels being used for spreading violence and hatred.

He said Pakistan desires peace at internal and external level, and has also been fighting against terrorism for the same purpose. He said Pakistan is ready to play its role for attaining peace and stability in Afghanistan.

He said dialogue is the only way to move forward with India for resolution of the outstanding disputes, including Kashmir.
