KARACHI:The body of a minor girl, who was drowned by her mother over domestic dispute, was found near Do Darya area of the metropolis on Tuesday.
According to Police, the mother drowned her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Anam on Monday afternoon near Farhan Shaheed Park in Defence Phase-8.
SSP South Pir Muhammad Shah said area people had informed police that a woman Shakeela, aged 28, a resident of Sultanabad Colony in Golimar, threw her daughter in the sea.
“Following the incident, police had arrested the woman, however, Anam’s body was recovered near Emaar Apartments at Do Darya on this morning,” SSP said.
Pir Muhammad Shah further said that a murder case has been registered against the woman under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 at Sahil police station. She will be presented before a court today to seek her remand, Shah said.
