Mirpur Bathoro:The town committee employees held a protest demonstration outside local press club against non-payment of their two-month salaries.
Scores of employees and their supporters, led by Shafqat Memon, joined the protest. The participants, holding banners and placards inscribed with their demands, shouted slogans against the government for not paying their outstanding salaries since last two months.
They said employees of municipal committee were discharging their duties with sincerity, but they had been deprived of their salaries on time. They said that nonpayment of salaries had put them in acute financial constraints. They demanded of the government to pay heed towards their issue and ensure payment of two-month salary; otherwise, the scope of protest would be widened.
