Mirpurkhas, Sindh: Mirpurkhas has been facing acute shortage of drinking water and its residents, as illegal housing schemes are stealing water from the main supply lines.
Sources said that some illegal housing schemes have installed three illegal pipes to steal water from the main water supply scheme on Tando Adam Road. This land mafia enjoys full support of sitting government and no one is taking action against them. They are using the stolen water even to bath their buffaloes, but the citizens of Mirpurkhas are not getting water even for drinking purpose.
The sources said that on the order of ruling politicians the public health department is laying another water supply line, but it is meant to facilitate another housing society and a big commercial marriage hall.
Citizens have demanded to supply drinking water to Mirpurkhas town and end patronizing land mafia and water thieves.
