MQM-L man gets 21-year term

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday awarded collective 21-year imprisonment to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) man in illicit weapon and explosives case.

The ATC judge found Moin-ud-din guilty of possessing a weapon without license and explosives material. He was arrested by the law enforcers within the limits of Jackson police station in 2017.

The judge pronounced the verdict after recording witnesses’ statements, evidences and arguments from both sides. The ATC observed that the prosecution successfully established its case.

The case was registered at under sections 4 and 5 of the Explosives Substances Act, 1908 and 23(1)(a) of the Sindh Arms Act read with section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

Besides possessing illicit weapon and explosives, the convict was also involved in target killings, said police.
