NAB arrests Gahno Jatoi in illegal land transfer case

LARKANA:NAB Sukkur said on Tuesday that it had arrested accused Haji Gahno Khan Jatoi, son of Karam Khan Jatoi. According to NAB Sukkur, accused Ganho Jatoi was arrested in Larkana as part of investigation against him, Mashooq Ali Jatoi, Sikander Ali Jatoi, officers and officials of revenue, forest and other departments.

Accused Haji Gahno, in connivance with other co-accused persons, usurped government as well as private land. He, in collusion with revenue officials, got 473 acres forest land transferred illegally. Moreover land area 55-30 acres admittedly owned by R Bhagwandas was also got transferred by the same accused through forged powers of attorney.

Besides above, he has also transferred City Center, Larkana, illegally in his name. The accused person was produced before Accountability Court, Sukkur, for grant of physical remand to NAB custody which was granted for eight days, NAB sources said. It must be mentioned here that apex court had taken suo moto notice of forcible occupation of lands owned by Hindu community including Dr. Bhagwandas. After recent hearing, the police have been deployed at the land where petrol pump has also been established.
