KARACHI:National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday filed a reference against former managing director (MD) Sindh Tourism Development Corporation Roshan Ali Kanasro and 8 other accused. The reference was filed in Accountability Court (AC) and was approved for hearing by the court.
The NAB has also named Shahanshah Hussain, Muhammad Azam, Ghulam Murtaza, Abdul Fateh, Abdul Hameed Soomro and Nazeer Ahmed Soomro as acused.
According to NAB, the accused caused lose of Rs48.5 million to national exchequer and they embezzled funds on the account of buying furniture and repairing vehicles. However, five contractors used plea bargaining and deposited more than Rs15.4 million in national exchequer.
It may be noted that former MD Roshan Ali Kanasro is on bail in reference and Shahanshah Hussain is under custody. However, six other accused in the reference are absconders.
