QUETTA: National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Balochistan has initiated inquiry into the fake phone calls made to the people and government authorities in the name of NAB, Balochistan.
According to a statement issued by NAB, Balochistan here on Wednesday, Intelligence Wing of NAB, Balochistan has been directed to devise strategy for apprehending the alleged gang involved in making fake phone calls to the people and government authorities in the name of NAB, Balochistan, adding that data of fake phone calls has also been shared with the concerned departments.
Urging the people and government authorities not to pay heed to such fake phone calls, statement said that fake phone calls ought not to be considered as official calls from NAB, Balochistan. Statement added that no officer and official of NAB, Balochistan has been empowered by Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman, NAB to contact alleged accused or people in personal capacity.
People have been urged to inform NAB, Balochistan about the phone calls of fraudulent elements, adding that as per the official business, official letters are being forwarded to the people rather than making phone calls. Statement further added that besides mobilizing Intelligence Wing of NAB, Balochistan to conduct formal inquiry into the fake phone calls made to the people in the name of NAB, concerned Departments have also been asked to initiate inquiry in that regard.
