Nationalists have damaged politics of nationalism: Khuhro

LARKANA:Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said Saturday that nationalists had damaged the politics of nationalism as some of them are in contact with GHQ and others are busy in seeking their blessings.

He was addressing a press conference at Larkana Press Club here today. Khuhro said it was the PPP which had always raised voice on the issues of Sindh and would continue to do so in the future. He said Jalal Mahmood Shah and other nationalists had never raised voice against rolling back of 18th Amendment and giving proper share in NFC award.

The federal government intends to keep Sindh forbidden but these nationalists are merely spectators. Sindh Revenue Board collects Rs 125 billion taxes. Sindh should also be given right to collect sales tax and taxes on goods,” he said.

Khuhro said that SUP Chief Jalal Mahmood Shah ran away after putting off lights of Sindh Assembly when resolution against Kalabag Dam was presented in the assembly. “Jalal Shah is trying to become spokesman of Imran Khan by demanding accountability in Sindh. Concurrent list has come to an end after 18th Amendment, but still the federal government has not handed over some departments,” he said.

The PPP leader said that party’s leadership was facing cases, including money laundering, and hoped it would come out clean handed. He demanded of the federal government to probe RBOD in which Jalal Shah was involved in the corruption. He said the PPP welcomed crown prince of Saudi Arabia.

He said: “Cars were sold for Rs 22 crores and now cars have been hired for the distinguished guests on Rs 20 crore which is a childish act.” To a question about resignation of Sindh CM over Irshad Ranjhani issue, Khuhro replied why Imran Khan did not obtain resignation from the KP government of Pervaiz Khattak when army public school was attacked and jail was broken on KP.

He said PTI’s demand from Sindh government to resign was un-meaningful. He said that Nawaz Sharif might be provided treatment facilities as per his satisfaction. He said bail of Shahbaz Sharif was not the outcome of any deal and if it is a deal, then there will be a big question mark on court as it has granted the bail.

Khuhro said Sindh wanted to have its rights and we will fight if the rights are denied. He demanded that control of WAPDA be given to Sindh as, he added, massive electricity and gas outage is being made across Sindh for which a joint voice be raised. Khuhro appealed to agitating doctors to call off their strike as their salaries are being raised to the level of Punjab.
